Fantasy/Sci-fi Film:
Virtualis Vinctum
Format:
I shall be creating an A4 poster design in either landscape
or portrait. My poster could possibly be used for magazine advertisement, on
billboards or in ad shells; poster sites are also very popular. High resolution
must be used for the best quality image possible for each advertisement.
Sector:
A film poster is what gets the audience wanting to view the
movie eagerly, which gets the fan base rising and making the film more popular.
A film posters’ importance in the advertising industry is what decides whether
a film will be forever remembered or if it will be forgotten or only liked by a
small percentage. A film poster gives a brief summary on what could happen in
the movie.
Target Audience:
For my movie I would say it is mainly aged to the age range
of 12a to 16. As far as gender goes I think that my film would be watched
equally by each gender. A lot of adults would possibly watch the film too
because of the adults that have their ‘weaknesses’ to fantasy and make believe
films.
Content issues
The film I plan to make will be based a little like a video
game/mobile game/virtual reality game, that gets world famous, until the game
ends up doing a circuit glitch, literally pulling people into the game, they
will be stuck in the game for the rest of their life. And by pulling them into
the game, I mean that when they get pulled in, their body goes missing in the
real world too. It will be based as a half real world have anime game world.
Stylistic issues:
My poster will look split worldly since it isn’t part of the
real world, the avatar, essentially is the real person stuck inside the game. I
have learnt that posters have to show detail, but also try not to over crowd
the poster itself. Fantasy/Sci-fi can have a weird mix, which can often portray
split worldly outcomes.
Legal & Ethical Issues:
I put the age rating at 15 because of the suggestions of
strong language, violence and possible sexual activity. (don’t know where about
though) the poster and film do not give any exploitation to stereotypical,
discriminative or homophobic scenes. My poster will not feature anything that
could provoke unsafe behaviour, exploitation of children, cause distress or
break the law. So the advertisement of the poster would be fine.
